SUCCESSION PLANNING:  Effective Leadership Transition for

Nonprofit Organizations

April 2, 2009

8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. - Refreshments and Registration

9:00 a.m. – Noon - Presentation and Panel Discussion

Purpose:   Nonprofit executive directors and board members are often so overwhelmed with day-to-day responsibilities, that “extras” like succession planning get overlooked or even avoided. This workshop will address the challenges and fears of planning for the future for long-time executive directors, founders and even newer leaders, and why boards often don’t broach the topic. Learn why this planning is so critical for the long-term success of an organization, and gain tools to start using immediately to be well prepared for leadership-transition, whether that is long in the future or next year.

Speaker:  Lydia Watts, Principal, Greater Good Consulting
