Dave Welbourn, President and CEO - has focused his career on developing resources for the growth of nonprofit institutions. He joined ECCF in the Spring of 2008 after long service as Senior Vice President at the Lahey Clinic, and was previously in senior leadership at the University of Vermont and Tufts. He teaches philanthropy and strategic planning as a consultant and volunteer for a variety of organizations, which is how he became engaged with ECCF. Dave and Lynn live in Wenham and share longstanding interests in many of the issues that ECCF supports.

Julie Bishop, Vice President of Grants and Services - Julie has over 25 years of experience in development, grants management and general nonprofit administration. Recent positions include Grants Manager at S.A.F.E. Studio in Ipswich and Director of Education at the Wenham Museum. Previously Julie was Director of Planning for TERI (The Education Resources Institute) in Boston. Julie has considerable volunteer experience in Essex County including currently serving as a Trustee of Wellspring House in Gloucester. She holds a B.S. from St. Lawrence University and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Julie and her husband, Kirk, live in Wenham and are parents of three almost grown children.

Jay Caporale, Executive Vice President & Director of Philanthropy - Jay joined ECCF in August, 2010 after 21 years in senior management and a partner at Ruotolo Associates Inc, a national consulting firm which provides philanthropic counsel to nonprofits. Jay’s expertise includes capital campaigns, strategic planning, and development office operations with a special emphasis on board development and major gifts. Before joining Ruotolo Associates, Jay’s professional experiences were in the political arena. He was Director of Community Relations and Economic Development for U.S. Congressman Chester G. Atkins of Massachusetts. Jay currently serves on the board of the Lanam Club, Andover, MA, where he is Chair of the Membership Committee and the North Andover Youth Center. He also serves as a commissioner at the Essex National Heritage Commission in Essex County, Massachusetts. Jay previously served for three years as Chair of the Board of Directors of UNICEF New England and was also on the President’s Council of Merrimack College, from which he graduated with a Political Science and Economic degree. Jay, his wife Martha, and their three sons live in N. Andover, Massachusetts.

Carol Lavoie Schuster, Assistant Manager of Grants and Services - joined ECCF in March 2011. Carol has dedicated her career to nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Most recently, she was the Program Manager at Associated Grant Makers (AGM) specializing in membership management, program development, course facilitation, conferences and events. Prior to AGM, Carol worked in development and as gallery director for several arts and cultural organizations such as The Commonwealth Museum, Panopticon Gallery, The Field Gallery, The Harvard University Art Museums, and the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association. Carol is active and passionate about community and volunteerism, serving as a Trustee for the House of Seven Gables and Martha’s Vineyard Art Association. Carol was raised in Beverly, MA, graduated from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and lives in Salem, MA with her family.

Pat Michaud, Donor Services - Pat has several years experience in marketing, desktop publishing and administration, and is excited to use both her marketing and administrative experience here at ECCF. For the past seven years, Pat was Development Coordinator at Spa Tech Institute in Ipswich, MA, responsible for marketing, publishing and program scheduling. Prior to that, she spent over 15 years at Palmer & Dodge LLP in Boston as an Administrative Assistant. Pat has a Bachelor’s Degree from Salem State College, with a major in Business and a minor in Marketing. She lives in Essex County, and is excited to be a part of the great work ECCF is known for.

Kathy Moriconi, Grants and YAR Administrative Coordinator - comes to ECCF with an Associate Degree in Business. She has worked in the field of high tech most recently and has previous experience doing bookkeeping/accounting work for various companies. Her administrative experience over the past 20 years includes working in marketing/sales where she provided administrative support and coordinated quarterly conferences with an attendance of 350. Kathy is was formerly active in the Grandparents as Parents (GAP) group and is a member of the Legal Task Force working with the Merrimack Valley lawyers in setting up legal assistance for grandparents.

Susan Perry, Controller - joined our staff in March 2011. She is a Merrimack College graduate with a background in public accounting, auditing small businesses and non-profit organizations. Over the past decade, Susan was the Business Manager for the former Our Lady of Nazareth Academy in Wakefield. She is a member of the Parent Advisory Board at Saugus High School and is a lifelong resident of Saugus where she resides with her husband Jim and their children Matthew and Jenna. Susan looks forward to serving the Foundation and the non-profit agencies in the community.

Jonah Ruh, Communications and Web Manager- Jonah has a great interest in community, networking and communication. She is responsible for both the main eccf website and the new hunger relief website. She went to Cornell University, leaving school after her second year to travel the country. After 10 years of travel and independent study, she has recently returned to the area, joining ECCF in Dec 2007.
