Essex County Community Foundation

The Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF) is a nonprofit organization that serves the 34 towns and cities of the North Shore, Cape Ann and the Merrimack Valley by helping people help their community. ECCF promotes local philanthropy, addresses the needs of the community and supports the nonprofit organizations that serve the community.

Signature Project: Hunger Initiative. This year hunger organizations are realizing up to a 30% increase in new participants to their programs. The Essex County Community Foundation is working to support the close to 50 agencies in the County that feed the hungry through food pantries, soup kitchens, food distribution and nutrition programs. ECCF will help them to sustain services throughout the year; increase food sources and develop an interactive website to facilitate communication between agencies, funding sources and clients.

North Shore Music Theater

A not-for-profit performing arts organization located in Beverly, Massachusetts, it is renowned for creating self-produced, Broadway-quality live musicals at its unique theater-in-the-round.

Signature Project: Spotlight Awards
A Tony®-Award-style program designed to showcase and honor the accomplishments of high school students and teachers as well as encourage them to achieve the highest levels of excellence in musical theater. Now in its fourth year, the program includes an average of 24 high schools and over 1,000 students, and culminates in an annual awards ceremony on the North Shore Music Theatre main stage.

The Friends of Beverly Hospital

A not-for-profit organization of volunteers that work together to build philanthropic support for projects and programs that enhance the welfare of Beverly Hospital, its affiliates and the communities they serve.

Signature Project: Breast Health Navigator Program
At the Beverly Hospital Breast Health Center at Danvers, women who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer receive the personal attention of a Certified Breast Health Navigator. Both the patient and her family receive guidance and care throughout the entire diagnostic, treatment and recovery process from the Breast Health Navigator. This is a unique program of support and educational counseling on the North Shore, and in the state of Massachusetts there are fewer than 20 professionals certified in this novel approach to delivery of care.
