Center for Nonprofit Excellence

Since ECCF’s inception we have trained over 10,000 nonprofit staff and board members through workshops, conferences and consulting on all aspects of organizational management. In 2009, ECCF created the Center for Nonprofit Excellence to combine these services under one program. As more and more organizations have begun offering these services, ECCF has redefined it role to focus efforts on nonprofit leadership development through the annual Institute for Trustees (IFT). Essex County Forum

ECCF's first initiative brought together Essex County's environmentally focused organizations to create strategy around conservation and smart growth. The initiative created opportunities for networking, and sharing ideas and experiences among members.  The Forum also collected and provided access to an expanding knowledge base pertaining to best practices, local, state and federal regulations and opportunities, as well as facilitated conversations between town planners, developers and special interest consultants.  ECCF maintains a small endowment to continue its support of environmentally focused projects.

Youth at Risk program

In 2000, ECCF launched a special initiative to help coordinate and improve community efforts to serve youth at risk.  The YAR program drew together counselors, teachers, medical professionals, educators and law enforcement to increase and share knowledge on all aspects of caring for young people at risk. This year round program maintained a directory of services for providers and created the annual Youth at Risk Conference.  The YAR Conference, launched in 2000 in partnership with Endicott College, continues to draw over 700 professionals for continuing education, collaboration and networking. In 2015 ECCF passed management of the Youth at Risk program to Salem State University to build upon this important work. Learn more...
