Acting Out! Theater Company, Inc. To provide 33 scholarships for kids to experience one week of all day Improv and Theater camp. $5,000
Andover Youth Service To offer a wide variety of trips, adventure camps, clinics, services, the skate park, and extended trips for young people 11-18. $8,000
Arlington Community Trabajando, Inc. To provide 16 hours per week of fun-filled educational activities including television production and community events organizing for youth ages 14-17. $8,000
Asian Center of Merrimack Valley To provide over 60 children ages 5 - 13  with classes in science, reading, writing, math and art to reinforce and enrich their education. $7,000
Blessed Stephen Bellesini, O.S.A. Academy To provide a four week summer program to maintain and expand upon the school year’s academic achievements and to expand student’s awareness of the world around them through field trips, guest speakers and service learning. $10,000
Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence A seven-week all-day summer program that provides engaging, structured activities for at-risk youth ages 7-18 many of whom would be otherwise left without supervision and guidance during the day. $15,000
Brooks School To provide scholarships to Lawrence youth to enjoy 1 week of summer camp. The camp is designed to develop campers both physically and socially while they enjoy a variety of recreational and creative experiences. $6,000
Challenge Unlimited To enable 2 groups of children from Lawrence to participate in the summer programs at Ironstone Farm including a program for children with emotional and behavioral disorders from the School for Exceptional Studies. $7,000
Children's Center To offer Greater Lawrence youth field trips and creative workshops that would be unavailable to them otherwise. Activities and trips include Seacoast Science Center, Canobie Lake Park, Beach Day, Cooking/Cake Decorating Classes, Pottery, Photography, Dance Camp, Fenway Park Tour, and Creative Expression. $7,000
Communities Together To enable neighborhood churches to offer one week of half-day programs that includes stories, crafts, games and fellowship for children grades K- 6. Working with the Lawrence Summer Meals Program, we are able to start each day with a box breakfast and finish at noon with a lunch. $5,000
Community Day Charter Public School To provide area youth with creative workshops and field trips to special educational and entertaining places. $8,000
Community Services Agency To provide a value-centered program for children of all faiths, races and ethnicity in greater Lawrence free of charge. Activities are geared towards making learning fun. Kids are provided with free lunch meal through collaboration with The Lawrence Public Schools Summer Meals program. $1,000
Easter Seals To offer children with disabilities the social and recreational opportunities that their non-disabled peers have. $5,000
Esperanza Academy, Inc. To fund staff salaries, camper-ships, tuition, transportation and materials to support a three-week summer program for all 80 Esperanza students. $13,000
Essex Art Center To provide many different art classes at a less than market cost to greater Lawrence area youth. Funds help pay for materials and teachers salaries. $10,000
Family Service, Inc. To provide 30 students from Lawrence with activities such as biking, hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. All activities are designed to reinforce positive communication, decision making, goal setting and team building. $5,000
Girl Scouts of Eastern MA To provide girls with six different one week themed camps. Programs promote leadership development and include swimming, hiking, arts, games, singing, environmental study and other outdoor skills. $1,500
Greater Lawrence Community Boating Program To provide boating safety and instruction to young people to help develop self confidence, responsibility, leadership, and the ability to work well with others. $20,000
Groundwork Lawrence To support implementation of the Green Team programming, which provides unique, environmental, hands-on employment and learning opportunities for 10 at-risk Lawrence youth aged 14-18. $10,000
Joseph N Hermann Youth Center To Provide scholarships to at-risk youth grades 1-5 from North Andover to enjoy camp activities that include sports, games, arts and crafts, music, cooking classes, adventure programs, Fitness Boot Camp, Animal and Environmental Week and the Joseph Walsh Summer Basketball League. $5,000
Lawrence Family Development Charter School A summer enrichment camp designed to address the multiple barriers to educational success experienced by many of the students enrolled at the school. $9,000
Lawrence Public Library To provide a series of seven free performances of musicians, artists, magicians, storytellers and nature exhibits as well as a variety of educational and artistic programs aimed at preschool and primary school audiences. $3,000
Lawrence Public School, Summer Meals Program To fund 2 bus drivers to deliver well balanced, nutritious meals to summer program locations in Lawrence. $5,000
Lawrence Recreation Department To provide recreation to the city’s youth during their summer school vacation including nerf football, whiffle ball, double Dutch jump rope, sailing field trips, and parachute games as well as free lunch. $5,000
Let's Get ready To help at least 45 low-income and first generation high school students meet their college potential by offering them SAT prep classes, college application guidance, and volunteer service opportunities. $5,500
Merrimack College ABA
Providing disadvantaged boys with an opportunity for a week-long summer residential basketball camp. The program’s goal is to teach conflict resolution through sports while building positive self-esteem through workshops, training sessions and mentoring from previous ABA graduates. $4,000
Merrimack Valley Community Service Corps An intensive eight-week service-learning project that connects local youth with senior volunteers by engaging them in volunteering together to address important community needs. $5,000
Merrimack Valley YMCA - Lawrence Branch To provide quality and affordable services for up to 140 low-income Lawrence children ages 5-12 predominantly of Hispanic descent. $10,000
Merrimack Valley YMCA - Camp Otter To help fund 12 Greater Lawrence youth to attend Camp Otter over the course of two sessions. $8,000
Methuen Arlington Neighborhood Inc. To provide activities including crafts, recreation, sports, and field trips for low-income youth in the neighborhood. The program fills the void of summer activities that are available for these kids. $12,000
North Andover Historical Society To provide a safe and stimulating environment for children interested in exploring the rich cultural heritage of Essex County, with an emphasis on the Greater Lawrence area. $1,000
Northeast Independent Living Offers community based, experiential field trips, youth peer support groups and technological skill development for youth with disabilities. The program connects them with adult peers with disabilities in real-world situations to help them gain the self confidence and connectedness that will contribute to a healthy transition to adulthood. $4,500
Northern Essex Community College Gives disadvantaged middle school children from Lawrence the opportunity to benefit from NECC’s unique and innovative summer enrichment program by offseting the costs of transporting them to Haverhill. $20,800
Notre Dame High School To offer youth ages 14-18 from families faced with an ongoing cycle of poverty, a comprehensive approach to understanding today’s work environment. The goal is to instill the value of self-sufficiency, help them escape poverty, and enable them to actively contribute to society. $8,000
Phillips Academy ABL To enhance student writing skills and literacy, and to improve the teaching of writing in urban public schools. $7,500
Phillips Academy PALS To offer academic enrichment, study skills, career exploration and guidance in considering high school choices to 7th and 8th grade students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. $7,975
Pingree School - Prep@Pingree An academic enrichment program for 35 public school students from Lawrence who have successfully completed the 7th grade. The program enables students to sharpen their analytical, verbal and written skills. $15,000
Project Bread - The Walk for Hunger To work with the Lawrence Summer Meals Program to improve the quality of meals, programs and outreach. $2,500
Si, Se Puede, Inc. To provide high quality educational and recreational opportunities to low-income, urban youth. $5,200
St. Ann's Home and School To make available for the students who live full-time at St. Ann’s Home, a summer vacation at the Father Sullivan House in Sandwich, MA. $14,000
Up with Music To provide scholarships to 40+ Lawrence violin students to participate in a fun-filled and challenging week of violin instruction, fiddling, dance, and other activities. $2,000
Windrush Farm Therapeutic Equitation, Inc. To offer eight weeks of a 5-day horsemanship program for at risk youth. Children will ride everyday, learn horsemanship skills, and care for their horse thus learning to take responsibility for another creature’s well-being. $5,000
Youth Development Organization, Inc. To provide after school city-wide enrichment programs for Lawrence students and to offset transportation expenses and camp registration and tuition costs. $6,500
YWCA of Greater Lawrence Activities for educationally and economically disadvantaged, inner-city, minority children ages of 6-13 and a leadership program for 14-15 year olds. $8,000
