F1rst Jobs Grant Guidelines

First Jobs provides first summer employment opportunities for teens from 19 North Shore communities. Operated by the North Shore Workforce Investment Board and administered by ECCF, the program connects local businesses and nonprofit organizations needing summer help with teens looking for employment.  First Jobs recruits and trains teens for their first job.  Employers interview applicants and select the candidate for their position.

Through the First Jobs Fund, nonprofit organizations can apply for funding to support employment of First Jobs teens at their agency for 4-8 weeks during the summer. 


Geographical Limitations 

The First Jobs program is limited to teens from the following communities:  Beverly, Danvers, Essex, Ipswich, Gloucester, Hamilton, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Peabody, Rockport, Salem, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, and Wenham.

Final Reporting Requirement

A Final Report, including a summary of how funds were spent, is due to the Essex County Community Foundation after the summer programs/positions have ended or by October 1st. This final report must be received to be eligible to apply to the F1rst Jobs Fund the following year. Access the Grant Report Form.
