Community Leadership Breakfast

Essex County Community Foundation's Celebration of Giving Breakfast

ECCF's 4th Annual Celebration of Giving Breakfast, held on May 4, 2017, was an inspirational morning of honoring incredible philanthropists and nonprofit organizations, celebrating our collective work in our communities and sharing the details of ECCF's work that is "Inspiring Philanthropy for Generations." Thanks to our awardees, sponsors and record number of attendees, this event was an incredible success and ECCF is extremely grateful for the support of those who live, work and raise families in Essex County.

Because of your support, ECCF:

  • Raised over $145,000 to support our strategic work in the region and the nonprofits working every day on the front lines to make a real difference in the lives of the people who need it most.
  • Inspired over 400 attendess - a record for this event - through the incredible stories of our awardees and recognition of seven amazing nonprofit organizations.
  • Planted a seed with the goal of "Inspiring Philanthropy for Generations.

As the patriarch and matriarch of the van Otterloo family, Eyk and Rose-Marie van Otterloo (pictured left) embody this year’s Celebration of Giving breakfast theme: “Inspiring Philanthropy for Generations.”

Their tangible generosity and dedication to making the world a better place through their support of education, human services and the arts have touched the lives of thousands of people living in Essex County and beyond.

Passing on those philanthropic values to their children, who have taken up the torch with the same passion, has only sustained and amplified their impact on causes both near and far. For their outstanding example and impact, Essex County Community Foundation is pleased to present the van Otterloo family with the 2017 George Peabody Award.
