 “Opportunities in the Nonprofit Sector”

 A Roundtable Discussion for Nonprofit Developers of
Affordable Housing and Community Development Projects

             Housing and community development organizations, like many other nonprofit organizations, are experiencing increased pressure due to recent economic conditions. On March 19, 2010, the Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF), Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA), Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC) and Boston Private Bank & Trust Company will co-host a roundtable discussion on “Challenges in the Nonprofit Sector”, providing developers of affordable housing and community development projects with an opportunity to share their views on:

  • Tips for securing predevelopment loans, project grants and loans and working capital

  • Economies of scale with opportunities of partnering in purchasing, financing, staffing, and other areas of interest

  • Standardization of bookkeeping, accounting, audit and filing procedures to lower third party costs

  • Coaching on board development, corporate governance, fundraising, strategic planning and other common needs

  • Best practices and improved productivity
