 About Us
Essex County Community Foundation serves the many different communities that comprise Essex County. By providing these facilities and services as a central, highly cost-effective resource, ECCF helps provide a substantially better quality of life to the people in the communities it serves.
Donors
ECCF builds donor awareness, provides cost effective philanthropic services and offers huge economies of scale by enabling donors to outsource the administration of their philanthropic endeavors to a central, multi-service organization dedicated to philanthropic support. ECCF provides the donor with major tax advantages, elimination of individual federal and state reporting requirements and a much greater return on investment of their philanthropic dollars.
A volunteer Board of Trustees serves as stewards of the assets entrusted to their care who, in turn, delegate that oversight responsibility to a very experienced Investment and Finance Committee. The Board is comprised of residents of Essex County.
Non-profit Organizations
The challenge for every non-profit organization close to Boston is to make itself heard, appreciated and supported locally.
There are over 1,500 non-profit organizations throughout Essex County, providing services to its 700,000 inhabitants. ECCF promotes the roles these organizations play, helps fund and find funding sources for them, convenes meetings and seminars to improve their business processes.
For every grant given, there is a heart warming story of the help that grant provides to those tirelessly working non-profit organizations in Essex County who are dedicated to improving our collective common good – these organizations feed our hungry neighbors and care for the sick and the elderly. They protect our wetlands, support and inspire our children, counsel the abused, and help to enrich our lives through the arts and humanities. From Amesbury to Lynn and Rockport to Andover, the Essex County Community Foundation is working to connect individuals with the philanthropic causes that benefit us all.
